Most photographers describe here how they have always loved photography. I find that it is not photography that I love. Oh, sure, I greatly enjoy using two tech systems (the camera and computer) to create art, record memories, and provide documentation. But that is not where my joy in photography lies. Rather it is in the reactions of my clients when I present to them my finished work.
As all of my business is word-of-mouth, many of my wonderful friends have become great customers. But also, many of my great customers have become wonderful friends, and both recommend me to others.
While the business has continued to grow, I still cherish the opportunities to use my skills for charitable organizations, like SONdance Ministries, Anastasis Dance Team, First Baptist Church – Modesto, Rancho Santa Marta orphanage in San Vicente Mexico, and others. This is where my heart is.
Now who are “we”, other than me? First, there is Rachel, who is the best assistant a photographer could ask for. I call her “Radar” because she knows what I need before I ask. Then there is my daughter, Katherine, who is the master of difficult photoshop work. My son, Peter, who used to assist and second-shoot, has joined the Coast Guard and is no longer available. And of course, my wife, Bobbi, who supports all of this in so many ways.
There is also the small family of Christian photographers with whom I have worked, shared ideas, and mutually supported. Through each other, we have each become better photographers.
Finally, it is my goal to exceed all expectations and create exceptional images for customers and ministries alike… images that enhance their lives both now and in the future.
Hello Jeff, I had the delight of attending Anastasis’ Handel at the Grand last night, where your work was displayed. Equally as enjoyable was reading through your blog. The way you share your creative vision with your clients and receive back is a gift in itself that speaks volumes of your character. I am certain your clients truly appreciate you. Such a pleasure to see your work! Sincerely, Kerri Hamilton, fellow photographer
Thank you. I am away from my computer so this will be short. Being involved with Anastasis is a great joy. I hope you enjoyed last night.
More later.
